Refinalization Day!

Yesterday we had our court hearing at the Fall River Family and Probate Court to refinalize our adoption of Nicholas here in the United States. Our adoption in Russia was considered a full and final adoption and refinalizing here in the US was optional but recommended. By going through this process we now have official US court documents showing our adoption and Nicholas can also simply get a birth certificate at city hall in Taunton. It was such a pleasant experience! The judge was so nice and thrilled to start his day with an adoption case! Here are a few pictures from our special day.
Here are Nicholas and Scott outside of the court house!!
What an attractive court house....

Here we are in the judge's chambers as he officially signs the documents!

It was a great day! We then went out to Friendly's for breakfast and stopped by the Swansea Mall to have Nicholas' picture with Santa. Nicholas wasn't afraid at all and he was actually much more interested in the props such as the reindeer than Santa. I don't want to sound mean but I have nicknamed this year's Santa photo the year of the "Scary Santa." He didn't have the jolly chubby face or the white gloves. Oh well, Nicholas looks like a cutie pie in the picture!
