We had a wonderful Christmas together this year! Nicholas really understood it more this year and loved all of the special parts of the holiday season. Here is Nicholas looking cute a couple days before the "big day"... isn't this a cute shirt!

The night before Christmas Nicholas got to open one gift, new Christmas pajamas to wear to bed that night. This is a tradition from my family and one that I love continuing with Nicholas. He was so excited to get new pajamas and wanted to put them on right away.

Here we both are in our "Christmas
jammies"!

Santa came to our house and filled our stockings that were hung by the chimney with care. By the way...Nicholas loves the book
The Night Before Christmas and we read it a lot this week!

Here he is first thing Christmas morning! Santa brought Nicholas a trampoline to help him build up those gross motor skills!

Nicholas loved opening his stocking! Here he is playing his recorder. He really thought that Santa would bring him a "trumpet horn" since there was one sticking out of Santa's sack in all of the Christmas books we read this season. No horn, but he did get a recorder.

His stocking...

This little dog was a stocking treat!

The trampoline was a hit!

Nicholas loves his new Winnie the Pooh slippers...

His doctor's kit was another hit...here he is exploring with it...

Dr.
Swensen reports that daddy's ears are looking good!

We then went to my aunt's house for Christmas dinner. Aunt Carol bought Nicholas the trumpet and he was thrilled!

Where is the sound coming from?

Here we are after a big meal holding trumpet boy! He LOVES this toy!

Uncle
BJ came over after dinner to see his nephew and exchange presents! Nicholas loves his Uncle
BJ!

What a wonderful time we had! The most memorable moment came when we were eating dinner at Aunt Carol's house. There were about 15 people around the table. My Aunt Marcy said grace and then we started to eat. In conversation we were talking about God and then I asked Nicholas a couple of questions so he could share how much he knew about the true meaning of Christmas. I said whose birthday is it today? Nicholas correctly replied, "Jesus' birthday!" Then I asked "Where was Jesus born?" I asked this because Nicholas thought it was really cool that Jesus was born in a stable with animals. That was his favorite part of the story when we read it. So, after I asked where Jesus was born Nicholas quickly replied "Russia!" Everyone laughed so much!!!!!!
