Nicholas had a doctor's appointment on Monday. He grew an inch in 6 weeks, that amazed me! He also continues to gain weight at a healthy pace which is great. He had 4 shots which was painful but over quickly. He only has one more left in June then he is done with vaccinations until he is 4! Yeah!!
Back in January I signed Nicholas up for a few classes at Roger Williams Zoo, one per month for the months of March, April, and May. A friend of mine gave us a zoo membership as a baby shower gift and we have already been twice and it is not even officially spring yet! The classes are called Toddler Trek and they are for children 18 to 36 months old. They are 45 minutes long. This Saturday we attended the first one called "Porcupine." The class was held in the Zoo Lab and it was wonderful!! Here are some pictures...
We were first to arrive. Here is the cutie pie in the zoo lab classroom checking everything out!

Here is Nicholas matching small pictures of animals to the larger ones.

He wasn't afraid to reach his hand in the mystery box.
Inside there was tree bark and porcupine quills!

He enjoyed his first interaction with a felt board!

The magnifying glass was impressive to him.

Out of the twenty stuffed animals the frog was his favorite. The eyes were huge!!

Here is Nicholas getting his prize at the end from the teacher. It was a passport and had a porcupine stamp and sticker! He loved sitting in the circle with the
other kids and passing around objects to look at. We even met a live animal...apparently a porcupine was not a good idea for this age level so we met a live hedgehog!! Great fun!!!

Nicholas got his first 4 wheeler this week (late birthday gift). He is now just starting to like sitting on it. He is still a little nervous to push the button and go around by himself. I'm sure this will change soon...

Have a great week!!

Hi Tammi,
I love the pictures of Nicholas at the zoo classroom! He is adorable. It's amazing how fast they grow...an inch in six weeks is unbelieveable!
Watch out...soon you will need to dodge around him on the four wheeler.
I hope you are enjoying the beginning of spring.
Adrian
