It has been 3 weeks since we petitioned the court to adopt Nicholas. We are hoping to get a phone call around week 7 with our court date and travel plans. We have decided that we will make 2 trips to Russia instead of 1 long one. The first trip we will spend about 2 days in Russia as we will attend a required doctor's appointment checking our health and then attend our court hearing!! We will then fly home for a mandatory 2 week waiting period. After that we will return to Russia for a week-long stay. At the very beginning of trip 2 we will get Nicholas!!!!!!! Then we will stay in the Bryansk Region for a couple days completing paperwork and then head to Moscow for a few days to complete more paperwork. Then the moment we have all been waiting for...returning home with Nicholas!!!
Therefore we have about 4 more weeks before we expect to hear anything. Scott and I listed all the things we want to do before Nicholas comes home. What a list!! No, we do not mean things like travel to a tropical island, etc. We listed things like planting more of a lawn, deep cleaning the house, finishing some other home projects, and on and on... We definitely have 4 weeks of work ahead of us!! Most of all we need to finish Nicholas' room...still waiting on my uncle to put in the carpet...maybe this week...

Sounds like you are moving right along! We had one of those lists too and didn't finish because we got the call for our court date before we expected (we were told 3 months and got it in 2 months). As you can imagine, nothing has been done since! Keeping yourself busy is good and before you know it you will be heading back to see Nicholas and bringing him home :)
