2 Weeks Down...

It has been 2 weeks since our paperwork was delivered to petition the Russian court to adopt Nicholas. It was delivered the Monday after we returned home. We are hoping that we will return to Russia 2 months later, sometime in August!

As I mentioned in my post last week, the first week after arriving home was so much fun! I was given two baby showers at my school - one by the staff and one by my fourth grade class!! Here is a glimpse of some of the wonderful gifts that we received!!!

Thank you to all the special people at East Taunton Elementary School!!!

Scott and I are so excited to be beginning Nicholas' bedroom. We are patiently waiting for my Uncle Rufus to come and put in the carpet so we can start to set the furniture up and decorate. So...for those of you that know my uncle, please remind him of Nicholas if you see him in your travels :-) Hopefully this week will be the week!! I decided to take a couple before shots of Nicholas' room. Here they are...

This first one is a view from the hall outside his room.

Here is a photo of the dormer that faces toward the front of the house. The dormer area has a hardwood floor and we plan on possibly creating a "book nook" here!!

This is the closet area. Scott designed the closet to have two sides with a built-in book shelf in the middle. It looks so wonderful!! On the left are bars to hang clothes and the right side has pullout draws and shelves. Oh...and there is Nicholas' friend Cooper waiting in the hall!

And..Cooper laying on the floor in his room excited to finally be able to enter what has been the construction zone! Cooper is going to love Nicholas!!!

This certainly is the hardest part of the wait, the weeks leading up to your court date! It has helped us to keep busy, and of course, a little retail therapy goes a long way! Enjoy putting Nicholas's room together! We can't wait to see it!
