Please pass the Kleenex!
This week has been uneventful on the picture-worthy moments. However, it has been very eventful on the runny nose, coughing, crabby, having trouble sleeping, kid moments. Ahh....the joys of parenting. It is not all roses! Close, but not always. Nicholas started the week with a bad cold AGAIN!!!!! This is his 4th cold this season. Is it preschool germs, is it the age, or is there more to it? I will be asking the pediatrician the answer to this in March. He missed his first day of school last Tuesday as he was miserable and the nose just wouldn't stop. Then he had a snow day on Thursday which led to a week off from school for him. As the week has gone on, he has gotten better. Today his nose is not running that much. Sarah Kate on the other hand, had a slightly runny nose going into the weekend and then Sunday morning at 1:00am she peaked. She woke up absolutely miserable. Her nose was a faucet, her cough was deep, and she couldn't get comfortable. Every time we put her down from 1:00am Sunday to 8:00pm Sunday she would cry. She had a low grade temp of 99.9 and to make matters worse she is cutting the other front tooth. It was a long day! Today, Monday, things are looking up for her and us. The fever is gone, the nose is a bit better, the time between coughs has increased greatly, she only woke up once last night, and the tooth is almost completely through the gum! Oh my!! Scott informed me during supper that he notices he is the most tired on Monday mornings and I feel the same way. No one ever said parenting was easy, if they did we would label them as nuts!
