October is here!! Yeah!!

I just love the fall season! I love pumpkins, apples, pie, Halloween and so much more. The cool weather today just added to the feel that fall has arrived. I am a day late in posting this week, very busy night last night! There were a couple of new things this week to share. First, Sarah Kate went to the doctor for her 6 month checkup and got a glowing report. She is in the 92% for height and weight. She weighs 19.4lbs!! Oh my! I giggled that some children can't be in a forward facing car seat at one year old because they haven't reached the 20lb. mark. A child has to be one year old and be at least 20 lbs. I think Sarah Kate will be able to face forward at one year considering she is so close to 20 lbs. at six and a half months!! She gained 3 lbs. and grew almost 3 inches in 2 1/2 months. No wonder she looks so big to us. She had her vaccinations and even the flu shot too. We are going back in a month for flu shot two, a booster for young children, and then back again in December for her 9 month appt. Where does the time go!!

Sarah Kate is sitting up on her own most of the time but falls still so you need to be right there. She does roll a lot and moves herself backwards. She babbles up a storm and loves to play. She is now going to start eating more baby food and had her first teething biscuit yesterday. What a big girl!!!

Nicholas is simply wonderful too! He is growing like a weed and is just at the point for a new car seat. Actually they both need a new one, ouch for the bank account :-) Nicholas continues to love school and can name everyone in his class (seven students total). He is going on a field trip tomorrow to Ward's Berry Farm in Stoughton and is excited to go on the hayride! He told me he wants to sit near Aryanna, a little girl in his class. He told me he likes playing with her. When I asked what he liked about her he said "She has a Y in her name!" How funny!!!

Here are a couple of shots from the week...
His teacher asked that we decorate a pumpkin as a family art project for October. We decided to get out the paint! Nicholas loved it...

Sarah Kate loved jumping as we painted...
Here he is side tracked by the paper plate...
The finished product. We added stickers that said "Swensen Family"...
Sarah Kate loves to sit and play now. Here she is in her new favorite position in the kitchen...
Playtime before bedtime...
Today the kids came home from my aunt in new outfits, literally!! Apparently Sarah Kate had a major poop blowout that caused all her clothes to be washed. Carol decided that it was as good of time as any to give the kids an early Halloween present that she bought for them. How sweet! I absolutely love Sarah Kate's new shirt and Nicholas loves his new orange pants!
This one is cute of her and not him...
This one is cute of him...
Ok...here are two REALLY cute ones of Sarah Kate....
How darling is my little pumpkin!!!
Have a wonderful week!
