The Beginning of our Christmas Season

We kicked off the holiday season last weekend by decorating our house and finishing our holiday shopping! I have never been done this early in the season with my shopping and it is the best! I feel like I can simply just enjoy the season now without the stress part of it.

This weekend our city celebrated the season too. Today, Sunday, we went to the Taunton Christmas Parade. Here are a few photos from Nicholas' first parade!
We stopped at the Green in the center of the city on the walk to take a couple of photos!

Here is Nicholas running down the middle of Main Street. It was strange to be on the main roads when they were closed off to cars.
Nicholas and his dad with the Green in the back during a break in the parade.

The highlight for us and Nicholas - Clydesdales!!

Wow...they are beautiful and huge! Nicholas and Scott get a close
look at them as they pass by us.

Here they come...can you tell the pictures are going backwards this week...

Scott and Nick as the horses approach.

We happened to stand next to a friend of mine who took a family photo for us!!!

We had so much fun at the parade! It was cold but we were ready for it. Nicholas loved the horses, the bands, and the fact that many people threw candy!
On Friday night we attended Taunton's 95th lighting of the Green. Taunton is nicknamed the Christmas City and our Green lighting is a long standing tradition. We had a good time but we didn't stay very long. Many of the activities and events were geared toward older children therefore we will probably hold off on going until our kids are older. Nicholas did love being there for the flip of the switch when the whole city lit up!!

Behind us is the Green all lit up!

Nicholas showing me all the lights!!

It was a beautiful sight!

Here are a few funny photos of Nicholas that I took in the beginning of the week as I was working to get the perfect shot for the Christmas cards. He is such a ham!

Lastly, this weekend Nicholas was thrilled to wake up on Sunday morning and see snow! What a great night to wrap up near a nice warm fire! Nicholas loves helping his dad make fires and loves feeling the warm heat on his hands!
