The Zoo and Baby #2

This week was wonderful just like all the rest. We did a lot of fun things like playing outside, taking walks, visiting with family, volunteering at VBS, and Friday's gym class is always a weekly hit. We ended our week at the Roger Williams Zoo in RI. We were given a yearly membership as a gift last summer and it expires next weekend :-( We decided to take one more free trip to the zoo before we became paying customers again. Nicholas rode in a very large swing!

The docent was so nice and we learned so much about the goats as we patted them.

Nicholas enjoyed the bench inside the special butterfly exhibit.

The butterfly exhibit is a special feature this year and we were able to go into a special greenhouse to observe many species of butterflies up close. Nicholas simply loved it as at home they seem to usually fly away fast. Today there was no escape :-)

Lastly, Nicholas loves his stroller. Lately this is his favorite way to ride around in it. Lazy? Smart? Funny? Who knows...I think it is pretty cute though!

Baby #2/Blessing #2 Update
We officially sent in the paperwork this week to become a waiting adoptive family, again. We decided to adopt from the United States this time for various reasons. Our close friend MaryKay's brother's best friend is an adoption attorney in Iowa. We have been working with the attorney for the past three months to complete all of the necessary paperwork. Starting next week our adoption profile, which is a digital scrapbook of our lives showcasing us, our family, and our home, will be shown to expecting birthmothers who are in the process of making an adoption plan for their unborn child. Some day, and it could take weeks or months, we will get a call that a birthmother has chosen us. We will then wait until the baby is born and until the birthmother officially relinquishes their parental rights (which is about 10 days after the birth in the state of Iowa) to bring the baby home. Every case is different and there are many possible scenarios. We might be matched when she is 6 months pregnant, maybe 9 months pregnant, maybe even after the birth. We'll keep you all updated as we go. It very well could be an emotional roller coaster and we are so prepared to ride with extreme caution. We would love to ask for you to remember us in your prayers. We need God to give us the strength to get through the waiting stage and also we need guidance in dealing with the decisions along the way. We know God has the perfect plan for our family, Nicholas is sure proof of that. We look forward to building our family again through adoption and making Nicholas a big brother to a little brother or sister.
