Things we learned this week...

We learned that going on our first family vacation as a family of three was more special than we could ever have imagined.

We learned that taking our amazing two year old to Cape Cod for the first time would be a highlight of our summer and our lives!

We learned that it is easy to take over a hundred pictures of Nicholas on the Cape and very hard to select the twenty or so to put here on the blog.

Nicholas has learned to love Cooper even more now that he is home with him all day every day since mom is off for the summer. They now play all the time and have their own games they do together. Here is a darling picture from the day before we left.

This week we also learned...

• that it wouldn't be a family vacation without the family dog...as you can see we brought Cooper to the Cape too and he made himself at home in the cottage.
  

• that Nicholas wouldn't need any adjustment time and loved the cottage from the moment he arrived.

• that walking down the path/road from the cottage to the water would always lead to fun!

• that out of everything we did this week, the ride in the row boat with Dad would be Nicholas' highlight of his vacation. We now says "row, row" all the time!

• that Nicholas loved walking along the canal and seeing the boats!

• that pushing the dingy/row boat around would entertain Nicholas for a long time!

• that Nicholas loved the sand, the water, and throwing rocks in the ocean.
  

• that Nicholas loves crabs and pointing them out to Daddy!

• that Nicholas loves the water and doesn't always wait to be in his bathing suit in order to go in.

• that he loved looking down between the rocks on the jeddi.

• that Nicholas would think he was so strong because he could push a boat by himself.

• that a highlight of walking the canal would be all the dogs Nicholas got to meet and pat along the way.

• playing in the sand can entertain him for hours!
  

• Nicholas loves watching seagulls swoop toward the water.
  

• that Nicholas might grow up to be a "beach bum."

• and lastly, like his parents, Nicholas loves to eat ice cream cones and has no problem doing it everyday!!!

As you can see, our vacation this week at the cottage was simply wonderful!! I'm sorry for so many pictures but I couldn't decide as I love them all! Happy Summer!!!
