Winter Fun!

This week was a fun one for Nicholas! First, on January 14th, his Uncle BJ turned 40 and many family members came to our house to celebrate! Nicholas loved helping to blow out all the candles. Yes, there were exactly 40 candles!! Uncle BJ needed the help....

On that same night Nicholas' dad returned from a business trip to Texas and brought Nicholas back his very own Cowboy Hat! Here the little cutie is with birthday cake on his face while he shows off his new hat!

Then today we decided to take Nicholas to visit family members that were spending the day ice fishing. What fun! Nicholas loved being pulled in his sled all around the pond. It was a perfect day to ice fish and Nicholas loved it all...

Uncle Scott took Nicholas to an area that was shoveled for skating so he could pull him really fast! Nicholas loved going fast and loves his Great Uncle!

Here is Nicholas and his dad looking cute! (In the back is the old Ann's Place Restaurant now the Chateau Restaurant. )

Nicholas loved looking in the hole at the water and really wanted to see some fish! Of course there were not any visible in the hole, but he thought it was fun trying! He did meet the bait fish up close and thought that was neat. One jumped into his lap and he cracked up! He also met a pickerel up close and patted it before it was released back into the water!

Kicking pieces of ice around and throwing them so they broke into many pieces proved to be another highlight of the 2 year old ice fishing experience!

Lastly, here is a photo of Nicholas watching Uncle Bj set a trap.

It was a fun day and Nicholas did so well walking on the ice. He was exhausted when we got home and feel asleep at nap time very quickly. Nicholas loved sampling a favorite family outing during the wintertime in New England! When he gets older he will love skating and eating lunch out on the ice too. Today we only stayed out for an hour but he loved every minute!

Update....Sarah Kate is coming soon!!! As of tomorrow the birthmother is 31 weeks pregnant and only has 9 weeks left to go. We had a wonderful conversation with her this past week. She actually was told by the doctor that she had to stop working. The baby is already in position so she needs to stay off her feet in order to carry the baby to term. She is feeling great and the baby is healthy! We are starting to get really excited!!
