What a Busy Month June Has Been...

The Month of June has been crazy!!! It started off with 2 big birthdays - Nicholas' dad and Gram! June 2nd was not only his Gram's birthday, but also the anniversary of the day we got "the call!" It was a year ago on the 2nd that the adoption agency called and told us we had been matched with a boy and that we were leaving to meet him in just 5 days! What an exciting time that was!! Here is a photo of Scott and his mom as we celebrated their birthdays this past week. Scott's birthday was June 4th! Nicholas is finally starting to get the birthday thing and likes seeing people blow out candles!

On Saturday we hosted a big birthday party for Nicholas' Great Grandpa who was turning 90 on the 8th of June! The entire Swensen Family came to celebrate and a wonderful time was had by everyone. Nicholas loves his great grandpa...here is a picture of his great grandpa loving him too... Here is Nicholas, his great grandfather, and his cousins!!
They has so much fun playing together this weekend!

Our new swing set was a big hit and the kids spent a lot of time swinging...Nicholas is in the middle, Ella on the left, and Mia on the right.

The boys also enjoyed the ride-on John Deere!
Here is Nicholas with his cousins Drew and Jared!

Although they may be upset to be posted, here is Nicholas with two of his aunts - Aunt Margie is holding him and Aunt Mary is to the left. Nicholas chocked a little on water and then would crack up if anyone said the word "choking." Sometimes certain words strike him very funny!!
On Sunday the Swensen's left and then we headed to a big family BBQ with my family! Nicholas again played with cousins and had a ball! Here is Nicholas with his Uncle Scott and his cousin Dakota. He loves seeing Dakota, he will be a wonderful big brother some day!

Here he is riding on the tractor with Uncle Scott!!!

Nicholas loved having three little boys there to play with. Two were his cousins and one a friend of the family. Notice that all 4 boys are sporting Red Sox hats!

One of the highlights of the weekend was that Nicholas finally acquired a taste for ice cream!! He has tried it a couple of times before but has always shied away from anything too cold. Well....he ate the whole ice cream cone on Sunday and loved every minute of it!!!
What a sticky mess he was!

Lastly, today is a very special day as well. One year ago today, June 9th, we entered the Klintsy Baby Home in Bryansk, Russia and met the most amazing little boy in the world. It was truly love at first sight and our lives were forever changed! How blessed we were that God led us to our beautiful son!! What a year it has been....
