Nicholas has been home one month today! He has made a great deal of progress in every area. He is walking about 12 steps before falling and goes further every day. He should be walking and not crawling in the next week or so. He says mama,
dada, bye, and "
oop" which is the dog Cooper. He and Cooper are so cute together and love playing together every day. Nicholas continues to be an excellent eater and sleeper which is great. He loves music and dances when he hears it. Nicholas waves bye, points at everything, blows kisses, and knows a little sign language too. He signs "more" and "drink" as well as the unofficial hands up for "all done." He loves to give people a high five and has recently started hugging things he loves like certain toys and mommy and daddy!!! He loves people and going to visit family or having visitors at our house. He likes the car seat during the day but not so much at night when he can't see. Healthwise, Nicholas still has a runny nose and now has two ear infections instead of one. He went to the doctor today and started antibiotic number 3. The first two were not helpful to him and we need to find one to conquer this for him. On a positive note he gained 3 lbs. this first month home which is wonderful! It is amazing to us that he has these ear infections still as he is such a happy little boy! Nicholas loves to laugh and to make faces. He is a great imitator of facial expressions and hand movements. He has recently learned that the
Tupperware cabinet is a blast to play in. He gets excited when it is bath time and loves to splash! He loves going outside and touches everything he can. When he is outside he looks so amazed by everything...trees, squirrels, rocks, etc. Peekaboo is a favorite game and he loves flipping through pages of books and "reading". All in all it has been a wonderful first month filled with so many firsts for Nicholas. This weekend he had another first...he met Santa! Of course, being the outgoing happy child he is, he loved Santa and even rubbed his beard. Notice the shirt Nicholas is wearing "Santa's Little Helper" - Oh what fun mom had getting his picture taken!!!

That is Nicholas' first month home in a nutshell. I want to thank everyone for there ongoing well wishes and prayers. Scott and I have been so blessed with an amazing son. God surely had a perfect plan for our family!!! I will continue to update weekly or so as Nicholas continues to learn and grow. Thank you for continuing to share our journey with us...

Hi Tammi,
Thanks for the update on Nicholas' progress. It looks like he is adjusting so well! I love his name for your dog, too cute!
He is looking very handsome with the big man, also.
I hope that you can get his ear infection cured, poor thing. Enjoy the holiday season with your new son.
Adrian
